Ten gun sellers face charges in New York

ALBANY - Rifles and assault weapons were on display at the Attorney General's office Wednesday, reportedly purchased illegally by undercover agents at guns shows across the state.

"I frankly was surprised and disappointed how easy it was no matter how aggressively our investigators asserted the fact that they could not pass background checks, how easy it was for them to obtain firearms," said Eric Schneiderman, the Attorney General.

Schneiderman announced charges against ten vendors and private sellers, including three from Saratoga County, who allegedly didn't do the required background checks before selling guns.

In one transcript of an undercover conversation, an agent says:
"I can't buy a gun from a dealer because I've got an order of protection. I had a messy marriage."
