Accused murderer: 'I asked for an attorney'

FORT EDWARD - Matthew Slocum, the Washington County man accused of killing three people, setting their house on fire and fleeing to New Hampshire, testified during a pre-trial hearing Thursday that police continued to interview him after he'd asked for an attorney.

During the Huntley hearing, Slocum's attorney argued police took statements illegally from the accused murderer.

Police testified during Thursday's hearing that when they asked Slocum if he needed an attorney, he said, "Yeah, probably."
