Northway closures scheduled for next week | News

Beginning on Monday, July 16 and ending on Thursday, July 19, the northbound and southbound exit ramps along Interstate 87 between exits 8 and 10 will be closed to traffic at various times during the next two weeks.

The closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The following ramp closures are scheduled for next week:

• Monday, July 16

1. Northbound Exit 9 off ramp. I-87 northbound traffic will be detoured to Exit 10, then to Ushers Road eastbound to Route 9 southbound to Route 146.

• Tuesday, July 17

1. Northbound Exit 9 on ramp from Route 146 eastbound. Traffic will be detoured along Route 146 eastbound to Route 9 northbound to Ushers Road westbound to I-87 north.
2. Northbound Exit 9 on ramp from Route 146 westbound.  Traffic will be detoured along Route 146 westbound to I-87 southbound to Exit 8A, Grooms Road eastbound to I-87 northbound.

• Wednesday, July 18

1. Southbound Exit 9E and Exit 9W off ramps.  Traffic will be detoured along I-87 southbound to Exit 8A to Grooms Road eastbound to I-87 northbound to Exit 9.
2. Southbound Exit 9 on ramp. Traffic will be detoured to Route 146 eastbound to Route 9 southbound to Vischers-Ferry Road westbound to I-87 southbound.

• Thursday, July 19

1. Southbound Exit 8A off ramp.  Traffic will be detoured along I-87 southbound to Exit 8 to Crescent Road eastbound to I-87 northbound to Exit 8A.
2. Southbound Exit 8A on ramp. Traffic will be detoured along Grooms Road eastbound to I-87 northbound to Exit 9 to Route 146 westbound to I-87 southbound.

Additional ramp closures are scheduled for the following week.
