Tech Valley High School welcomed Congressman Chris Gibson for a visit on Tuesday.
The congressman stopped by the school to visit classes and to speak with students about their projects ranging from bridge constructions to human rights violations. Gibson also met with Principal Dan Liebert, Capital Region BOCES District Superintendent Charles Dedrick, Questar III District Superintendent James Baldwin, Operating Board Member Robert Gibson and TVHS Business Partnership Coordinator Denise Zieske.
Gibson’s 20th Congressional District includes 60 percent of TVHS students and he promised support for the school.
"The evidence I looked at in the military in increasing competence showed that the model that works best is the mentor-ship model,” said Gibson. He also added that the J-Term program at the school impresses him because of the internship element.
This was the congressman’s first visit to TVHS.
